Always the first Sunday in October: the Castro Street Fair. It is Indian Summer here in San Francisco, and we are having a heat wave. Living only one block away, I went through the fair 3 times. In the morning people were relaxed and the atmosphere was mellow. By the afternoon, it was a party. Here is a photo of me with Armistead Maupin, the author of Tales of the City. There were plenty of music and food, plus naked people.
I am getting packed and ready to go on Tuesday. Next stop, home to Stockholm.
Strange you would meet Armistead. Just before Troy and I went to Mendocino for two weeks, I went to the library for some reading material for the trip. The featured book for last month was “Tales of the City,” so I checked out a copy. I saw the TV production, but had never read the book. Interesting.
Hi Jerry!
I am also reading Tales of the City. I bought it from Armistead, and he signed it for me. It is kind of a silly book, but i like the flavor of being back in the 70’s.
My father has pneumonia and is in the hospital. He is recovering, but it is a bummer. My mom has a broken finger so she has a caste on her hand. Anyway, it is good that I am here to help out. They both say hi to both of you. I am so sorry I didn’t get to see you before I left. We are all so busy! I am sure you had a great time in Mendocino.
much love to you and Troy, Ravinder
Love reading your blog!
